H3-015 - HVAC and Social Media

This week we talk to John Sonnhalter of Sonnhalter, a B2T (Business to Tradesman) marketing firm.  John has a lot of expertise when it comes to social media, so in this episode we sat down and talked about how this new way of communication works for our industry.  We also give so good tips as far how best to use social media in your career or company.  Some of our topics include:

Facebook : Great for business to consumer outreach and for local businesses.

LinkedIn : Prime business, company, and career site (in my opinion). Networking a must for success.

Twitter : More ideal for breaking news or sharing interesting articles.

Google Plus : A future player and always a contender.

Now after the interview I did see that Google Plus is still in a beta testing stage and not available newcomers.  But I am sure that it will open back up and I will let you know what I think about Google Plus.

UPDATE - 11/1/2011: Google has recently opened up Google Plus to the masses.  The jury is still out on the rate of adoption but for those looking for the very edge of social media take a look.

UPDATE - 2019: Google Plus is no longer. Focus efforts on LinkedIn and maybe twitter.
